Giffard Grenadine Syrup
Giffard Grenadine is a classic French cocktail syrup made with concentrated red fruit and lemon juices rather than pomegranate alone. Currant, blackberry and strawberry lead, followed by tart raspberry and blackcurrant, while vanilla rounds everything out with a softer, almost confectionary finish. Deep red, concentrated and made without preservatives, it brings fruit, sweetness and color to cocktails, sparkling water, lemonade and all manner of zero-proof mischief.
Why We Love It
Grenadine has suffered through years of glowing red, artificially flavored versions, but Giffard gives it back some dignity. The blend of red berries has genuine depth, lemon keeps the sweetness from becoming flat and vanilla softens the edges. A little goes a long way, making this an exceptionally useful bottle for anyone who likes a drink with a bit of drama.
How to Drink Giffard Grenadine
For an easy sparkling drink, add ½ ounce Giffard Grenadine to a glass filled with ice and top with 4 to 6 ounces sparkling water. Finish with a squeeze of lemon or lime.
Cheeky & Dry Signature Serve: Add 2 ounces non-alcoholic tequila, 3 ounces orange juice and ½ ounce fresh lime juice to an ice-filled glass. Slowly pour ½ ounce Giffard Grenadine down the inside of the glass and allow it to settle before stirring.
It also works beautifully in a Shirley Temple, lemonade, iced tea, smoothies and alcohol-free sours.
Pair it with: Salty snacks, dark chocolate, berry desserts, vanilla ice cream or a properly buttery bowl of popcorn.
