Oddbird Blanc de Blancs is a dry, dealcoholized sparkling wine from Languedoc-Roussillon in southern France, made from Chardonnay and Colombard. Crisp Granny Smith apple, lemon peel and lime meet subtle honey and almond, with fine bubbles, bright acidity and a soft creaminess from extended aging on the lees. Fresh and elegant without being austere, it has considerably more texture and complexity than the average non-alcoholic sparkling wine. Oddbird Blanc de Blancs contains 0.0% ABV.

Why We Love It

Oddbird has always approached non-alcoholic wine as wine first, and this bottle makes the case beautifully. The base wine is matured for 12 months on fine lees before the alcohol is gently removed at low temperature, helping preserve its aromatics and structure while developing a softer, creamier texture and subtle brioche character. We love the combination of tart apple, citrus, minerality and that little savory almond note. It’s dry, grown-up and interesting enough to linger over rather than disappearing after the toast.

Food Pairing

This bottle deserves the good snacks: oysters with mignonette, lobster with lemon butter, Dungeness crab, fried chicken, smoked salmon with crème fraîche, a mushroom and Gruyère tart, Parmesan gougères, or excellent potato chips with a bowl of something creamy for dipping. Especially good with food that is salty, rich, creamy, or briny.
